PRIVACY POLICY

Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your personal data. Our website complies with the European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – 2016/679).

By completing the website’s contact form, you accept these terms regarding the use of your personal data (name, e-mail and/or telephone number) by our website.

Cookies

The term “cookie” refers to a small data file consisting solely of a set of text information that a website transmits to your browser on your computer’s hard drive, either temporarily for the duration of your visit, or sometimes for longer periods of time, depending on the type of cookie. Cookies perform various functions (for example, distinguish you from visitors to other websites or remember certain information about you, such as your preferences) and are used by most websites to improve your user experience.

Each cookie is unique to your browser and contains some anonymous information. A cookie typically contains the name of the cookie field, the cookie’s lifetime, and a value (usually in the form of a randomly generated unique number). If you need help on how to manage certain types of cookies, including how to control or delete them, visit www.aboutcookies.org.

Types of cookies

The main types of cookies that websites may use are described below:

  • Session cookies

These are temporary cookies that remain in your device’s browser cookie file only for the duration of your visit and are deleted when you close the browser.

  • persistent cookies

These remain in your device’s browser cookie file even after you close the browser, sometimes for a year or more (the exact length of time depends on the lifespan of each cookie). Persistent cookies are used when the website administrator may need to know who you are across multiple visits (e.g. to remember your username or your preferences for website customization).

  • First-party cookies

These are cookies that are installed in your browser and/or on your device’s hard drive by the website you are visiting. This involves assigning a unique identifier to you for the purpose of tracking your navigation on the website. Website operators often use first-party cookies to manage visits and for identification purposes.

  • Third-party cookies

These are cookies used by third parties, such as social networks, to track your visits to the various websites on which they advertise. The website administrator has no control over these third-party cookies.

Security

For the security of your personal data, we use an SSL security certificate.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address, to help detect spam.
An anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible in the context of your comment.

Google Analytics

We use the Google Analytics statistics service to collect anonymous information that does not identify the visitor, to better understand the needs of visitors and this helps us offer better navigation to our visitors. Read more information about the Cookies used by the service.

Security files

To monitor malicious activity and protect the site from specific attacks, the IP address of visitors, the user ID of logged in users, and the username of login attempts are conditionally logged. Examples of conditions when logging occur are between login attempts, logout requests, requests for suspicious URLs, changes to site content, and password updates. This information is retained for 14 days.

Caching

This website uses caching to facilitate faster page loading and provide a better experience for visitors. All cache files are temporary. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the website administrator, but can easily be cleared by the administrator before their natural expiration, if necessary.
